A COLLABORATION FEAST BETWEEN FACILITIES AND TECHNOLOGY
The COVID-19 has posted a huge impact to the daily life across all walks of life. It witnesses a change in social behavior, including “Work from Home” (WFH), disease tracking and quarantine. It also casts a challenge to the reaction and efficiency of public policies by the Government and facility management by the private sector.
The Facility Management business is one of few high-demand businesses during the pandemic. Some of the measurements shall become “new normal” and Data & IoT technology solution will play an indispensable role in bridging the supply & demand in Space Management, in both public and private sectors. Data & IoT Startups are invited to join force in filling the gap.
Property Management(PM) and Facility Management(FM) is defined as the management, control and supervision of the physical spaces a business occupies, which is done by the business owners or delegated to management service providers. Modernised Space Management works with market economy. In the prerequisite of well managing the property, it aims at providing people-oriented environments by both physically and mentally pleasing services.
No matter if it is residential, commercial or public space, or the facilities and property management inside and outside the space, we believe that data-driven technological innovation will transform this traditional service industry.
WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN B4B CHALLENGE ?
ENERGISER WEEK
Finalists teams will earn an opportunity joining Energiser Week – an intensive training program in Shanghai, with experts and professionals from corporates, consultant firms, Big Data start-ups and investors to share insights on Big Data application and catch up with the latest Big Data trend.
MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
Finalists will enjoy a 3-month Mentorship Program with Big Data gurus and experts from various domains such as Mr. Herbert Chia and Dr. Toa Charm. During the mentorship period, finalists will have the chance to seek advice and guidance to improve on there Big Data solutions for the Final Pitching.
NETWORK
Finalists will have many opportunities to network with Space Management resources such as corporate sponsors and partners in Hong Kong, Greater Bay Area and Shanghai as well as start-up teams from other competitions. Business engagements were created between B4B finalists and corporate sponsors and partners in previous years.

WHO CAN JOIN ?
Applicants can apply either as a start-up team or an individual team. There is no restriction to the number of members for a team, however, we believe the optimal number of team members should be from 3 to 6. The fully-funded Energiser Week will cover 3 team members from each team.
Each company can only send one team and each team can only submit one application.
Each Applicant can only join one team.
Only completed Application Forms with the documents required to be enclosed as stated therein shall be considered valid entries.
Start-up / Company Teams

All team members must be aged 18 or above.

All team members must be full time employees of the company.

The applying company are not necessarily pure-play Big Data companies. Their core business can be in any industry but they are making use of Big Data Technology to empower their business models, products, services or technologies.

For Hong Kong Chapter, the applying company must be incorporated in Hong Kong.

For other chapters, the applying company must be incorporated in Mainland China
Individual Teams
-
Any individuals aging 18 or above including students can enter this stream.

The applied project should be POC (Proof of Concept) ready, or be ready for market.

For Hong Kong Chapter, at least one member in each individual team must qualify as one of the following categories of persons, as at the deadline of application (October 30th, 2020).

Persons having the right of abode in Hong Kong, including Hong Kong permanent residents;

Persons having valid permission to stay in Hong Kong for residence;

Persons having valid permission to land in Hong Kong as a student; or
-
Persons having valid permission to land in Hong Kong for employment.

For other chapters, at least one member in each individual team must qualify as one of the following categories of persons, as at the deadline of application (October 30th, 2020).

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
Selection of finalist teams and champion teams for each stream will be based on the following assessment criteria:

Should there be any dispute as to the results of the assessment, the decision of the Judging Panel shall be final.
