B4B 2023/24

B4B CHALLENGE 2023 - 2024

Tech for ESG

Carbon Tech for Real Estate AND Virtual Tech for Imagination

ABOUT THE TWO STREAMS

Carbon Tech for Real Estate and Virtual Tech for Imagination

B4B Challenge continues to focus on how the value chain of Real Estate, ranging from new building material, energy management, design & planning, construction & demolishment, and facility management, can become more sustainable through the empowerment of technology. One may relate the real estate business mostly to buildings and bricks, but in fact, the property sector is closely related to a wide range of other sectors including many of our daily activities from workplaces to retail shopping outlets,

transport stations and of course our homes.

B4B Challenge focuses on resolving specific social pain points through an emphasis on highly innovative propositions. One of the experimental initiatives introduced this year is Virtual Tech for Imagination. Virtual Technology will play a crucial role in transforming traditional practices. Virtual technology faces hurdles in hardware advancement, affordability, and user comfort. The need for powerful computing systems and potential motion sickness limits its adoption. Data also poses challenges, requiring high-resolution 3D models, textures, and authentic datasets for immersive experiences. Real-time data transmission and processing present further obstacles. Overcoming these hurdles is crucial for making virtual technology more accessible, user-friendly, and cost-effective. Advancements in hardware, reducing costs, improving comfort, and addressing motion sickness can enhance adoption. Additionally, curating and processing data, improving data transmission, and expanding dataset availability will contribute to the growth

and potential of virtual technology in various industries.

Rather than defining the scope and application by us, we invite contestants to present their vision and propose bold and innovative solutions to address the problem.

B4B Challenge is a dynamic platform that identifies and promotes innovative high-tech products through a thorough analysis of market demand and competition. The top 3 products are highlighted via media coverage, including RTHK, newspapers, and fund houses, giving innovators a chance to showcase their work to a broader audience. I highly recommend B4B Challenge to other innovators looking to advance their ideas.

The B4B Challenge was a great opportunity that allowed us to exhibit at InnoEx. During this time, we met various experts who provided valuable comments and feedback.

During the journey, we met many different advisors, mentors, and experts. We had the chance to exhibit at InnoEx, and this experience is very rare, with a well-sized and strategically located pavilion that is quite eye-catching. During the exhibition, we also had opportunities to share our insights.
